About the Music: The Bobby Torres Ensemble, featuring vocalist Julana Torres will entertain you for the evening and lead the NYE countdown celebration. Inspired by years of touring and engagements with such greats as Tom Jones, Joe Cocker, Jeff Porcaro (Toto), Etta James, Tim Wiesberg, The Captain & Tenille, and the Beach Boys (to name a few), Bobby Torres music is packed with driving rhythms, tasty piano licks, and an infectious bass. Special guest pianist George Mitchell, who is home for the holidays from regular tours with Dianna Ross, has played with Sonny Stitt, Philly Jo Jones, Richie Cole, and Eddie Harris to name a few. Julana Torres (Cuba Libre, 26 Miles, Water By the Spoonful) recently performed to a crowd of over 5,000 at the Water Front Blues Festival with special guests Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks who joined the Bobby Torres Ensemble on stage. About River Space: River Space is a polished special event venue conveniently located downtown in Portland’s hottest upscale urban neighborhood at the SW Waterfront River Place Promenade and Marina (Strand Condominium complex) at 1910 SW River Drive Portland OR 97201.
