Bobby Torres Trio

Bobby Torres Trio, featuring Dan Gaynor on Piano and Dashel Ruiz Perez on guitar, will perform along with other musicians and DJ’s at “A Night of Art” – a charity auction to aid grass roots rescue and recovery efforts in Mexico and Puerto Rico. This special event is being held at the Trio Club 909 E. Burnside Street, Portland OR 97214. Doors 6:30 pm. Event from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm. Latinos Unidos PDX and Milenio.org invite you to help us kick-off a series of events that pay tribute to the disaster-stricken lands that have inspired and shape the talent we bring to the Northwest. This first event, “A Night of Art”; will provide you an opportunity to bid for some of best performers, artists and special event services in town. We will introduce you to the communities we are aiming to support in Mexico and Puerto Rico.

Our Mission
Mobilize Portland Oregon’s Latino performing and visual artist community to raise funds to aid grassroots efforts at the local level in the Mexico and Puerto Rico.

Our Approach
Event and community organizers from the Portland metro area have united to form a fund-raising and fund-distribution strategy that is built on “la conciencia de la comunidad”; trust through community conscientiousness. During the early stages of organizing there was unanimous agreement that funds would need to reach more isolated communities that have been severely impacted but have received less attention and assistance. Rather than direct funds to larger disaster aid organizations, we decided to build upon the existing network of trust present in our local community to identify allies currently working on the ground to help their communities. 100% will be donated to help those in need.
